Cold Laser Therapy
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a medical treatment that uses low-level lasers or light-emitting diodes to alter cellular function. LLLT is controversial in mainstream medicine with ongoing research to determine the ideal location of treatment (specifically whether LLLT is more appropriately used over nerves versus joints), dose, wavelength, timing, pulsing and neck pain, tendinopathy, and possibly chronic joint disorders. Cold Laser dramatically reduces musculoskeletal pain and inflammation as well as promoting soft tissue repair wherever the laser beam is applied. It is not a heat treatment, it’s medicinal effects are photochemical. One of the primary actions is on mitochondrial production of ATP, therefore potentially affecting any cell in the body. Cold Laser has undergone over 1000 published laboratory studies and is already proven effective in over 100 successful double blind controlled clinical trials. These trials concluded that Cold Laser was successful in relieving acute and chronic back pain, neck pain, headaches, osteoarthritis, tendonitis, sports injuries, pain from rheumatoid arthritis and chronic joint disorders.
Cold lasers are also sometimes used for acupuncture, using laser beams to stimulate the body’s acupuncture points rather than using needles.Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has been used worldwide for over 40 years to relieve pain, remove scars, heal wounds, regenerate nerves and solve addictions. On January 17, 2002, the first US Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) company, Erchonia, the laser you’re being treated with, received FDA clearance through clinical trial. The study took 100 patients complaining of neck and shoulder pain. Were treated with a useless red light (placebo group), similar to that on a computer mouse or grocery checkout, and the other half received LLLT.
