no one warms up properly before they exercise. Inside our tendons we have little organs called golgi tendon organs that are actually stretch receptors. When a doctor checks your reflexes, we take our little hammer and bang on this organ and it sends a signal to the spinal cord and back to the muscle and makes it contract. When you hold a muscle stretch, this organ sends a signal to our brains and in turn our brains send signals to our blood vascular system to start rerouting more blood to that muscle. The more blood in the muscle, the more flexible it will become, and the more nutrients and oxygen will be ready for the exercise. The problem with golf is that no one stretches before they swing the clubs. The golf swing causes a tremendous amount of strain on the lower back from the driving twisting motion, let alone the resistant forces that happen when you hit the ground. and this strain causes micro tears in your tendons and ligaments which leads to inflammation and scar tissue formation 6 weeks later and the begining stages of spinal degeneration. If you do this 2 times per week, the scar tissue builds up quickly and before you know you have a big problem the damage is already done. But it is fixable. I can show you how to proper warm up with some simple stretching exercises and i have a special traction table that will rehab the scar tissue in your spine and restore your normal range of motion so you once again swing pain free.

Did you know that a pinched nerve in the middle of the spine could lead to high or low blood pressure? did you know that over the past ten years, the increase in blood pressure medication use has not decreased the number of heart attacks at all? Correcting this pinched nerve can correct the problem while blood pressure medication actually only covers up the symptoms and can have dangerous side effects. If you know someone who takes blood pressure medication talk to them about having their spine checked for pinched nerves. Bring them by our scottsdale chiropractic clinic for a free check up.

Did you know that according to Newsweek (April 2004) the number one cause of disability in our country is arthritis? Did you know that the best way to help the body heal from, as well as prevent arhritis and spinal degeneration is through maintaining a proper spinal alignment? When the spine is aligned and functioning normally, there is a less degree of damage to the soft tissue supporting the spine. Every day life stresses place strain on our ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints. Damage to our soft tissues (the collagen really) triggers a bio chemical reaction in our body called inflammation. This inflammation reaction from the damage tissues causes white blood cells to increase blood flow and bio chemicals to the damages area to clean up and remove the dead cells. This process is also responsible for the symptoms of soreness, stiffness, numbness, and pain that we feel. This process also initiates the formation of scar tissue over the next 6-8 weeks even up to 6 months. The problem, it starts all over again tomorrow, and after years of this our bodies tend to wear out prematurely. Chiropractic helps to reduce the stresses and strain to our spines by keeping the spinal joints moving through their normal ranges of motion, limiting the daily damage of our stressful lives. If someone you love is suffering with arthritis pain bring them by our scottsdale chiropractic clinic, your first visit is complimentary.

Did you know that carrying heavy book bags and sitting in class for extended periods of time are the main causes for pinched nerves and back strain in school age children. Many kids have their back backs and book bags hang too low or over one shoulder instead of both. I know, you need to look cool right. I have a nice picture of the hunchback of notre dame you can hang in your locker. jk. if you have children in school that are using back packs, ask them if their backs are sore and or stiff. Bring them by our scottsdale chiropractic office and have them checked for pinched nerves, and bring the back pack we will adjust it for them to the right level.

Glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate amd MSM, three supplements you have probably heard alot about over the last few years. Unfortunately no one seems to eat glucosamine in their daily diet anymore. So when our joints and disc materials break down from stress there are no new nutrients for the cells to use for repair. Glucosamine has been used by millions of arthritis sufferers worldwide for many years now with great results. Glucosamin combinations provide safe, effective relief, with little or no side effects. Plus they are relatively inexpensive. When taken daily over a period of a few months patients have shown to have imporved range of motion to all the effected joints. MSM which is a derivative of a cream called DMSO, popular back in the 80’s and was then out-lawed by thes FDA, probably cause it worked too well has shown very good anti inflammatory properties that help with pain relief. Our scottsdale chiropractic clinic sells the full line of liquid health vitamins at wholesale prices.

Did you know that Chiropractors are required to take the same classes as medical doctors during their first 2 years of graduate school? Did you know that in Chiropractic school they use the same text books as regular medical school does? Did you know that professors at chiropractic school and medical school are required by law to have a doctorate degree in their field, in order to teach students? Did you know that a Chiropractic Student is required to take extra classes in Neuroanatomy and Radiology than medical doctors? And did you know that Chiropractors are actually licensed radiologists and are required to be tested by the state, in order to be allowed to take and diagnose your X-Rays?
Have more questions? I can help!
